    • Easy to make: With only a few ingredients and simple instructions, this recipe is easy to make at home and doesn't require any special equipment.
    • Healthier option: By using sugar-free maple syrup, this recipe is a healthier option compared to other sugary coffee drinks available at cafes and coffee shops.

    Ingredients Notes

The ingredients used in this recipe complement each other to create a flavorful and satisfying coffee beverage.

    • Espresso: we used our Nespresso machine with an espresso pod for a strong flavorful coffee. However, if you don't have an espresso machine but still want the bold flavors you can simply make extra strong coffee.
    • Peanut Butter: creamy natural peanut butter is a must for this coffee recipe. You can also use homemade natural peanut butter.
    • Maple Syrup: I really enjoy this Lakanto Maple Flavored Syrup for this recipe. It is naturally sweetened with monk fruit to give you a perfect sweet start to your day. If you're not too worried about the sugar content, you can opt for using regular maple syrup instead.

    Recipe tips

Here are 2 tips to make this the best maple peanut butter coffee ever:

    • Maple Syrup: If you like your coffee sweeter, start by making the recipe as written, then taste it and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar free maple syrup until it reaches your desired level of sweetness.
    • Blend well: To ensure that the peanut butter is fully incorporated into the coffee, blend the mixture well until it becomes smooth and creamy. This will also help to create a frothy texture that makes the drink more enjoyable.

    How to store the coffee?

To store the peanut butter coffee recipe in the fridge or freezer, follow these steps:

    1. Let the coffee cool to room temperature before storing it.
    2. Pour the coffee into an airtight container if storing in the fridge or an ice cube tray if storing in the freezer.
    3. If storing in the fridge, seal the container and place it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
    4. If storing in the freezer, cover the ice cube tray with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then transfer the tray to the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

To warm up the stored coffee recipe:

    1. If stored in the fridge, pour the desired amount into a mug and microwave it for 30 seconds or until it is warm enough for your liking.
    2. If stored in the freezer, take out the desired amount of coffee cubes and let them thaw in the fridge overnight. Once thawed, pour the coffee cubes into a mug and microwave for 30 seconds or until it is warm enough for your liking.

It's recommended to freeze the coffee without the cream and add it in after it has been thawed and reheated.

Stir the coffee before drinking and enjoy!

    Recipe variations

Here are 5 variations of this delicious peanut butter coffee recipe:

    • Peanut butter powder: Instead of using regular peanut butter, you can use powdered peanut butter to reduce the fat content while still adding that delicious peanut butter flavor.
    • Iced coffee: For a refreshing twist, pour the coffee mixture over ice and add some milk or unsweetened nut milk to make a delicious iced coffee.
    • Peanut butter mocha: Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the recipe for a rich and indulgent peanut butter mocha flavor.
    • Chocolate peanut butter: Melt some no sugar added chocolate and mix it into the coffee mixture for a decadent chocolate peanut butter coffee.
    • Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Coffee: use a dairy free creamer to make it vegan and dairy free.

Make it a peanut butter latte recipe

A peanut butter latte is a creamy and nutty coffee beverage made with two shot espresso, peanut butter, unsweetened nut milk or whole milk, and optional sweeteners like sugar free maple syrup and topped with whipped cream, and crushed peanuts. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract if you want a more vanilla flavor.

To make it, you mix melted peanut butter with espresso (or strong brewed coffee or cold brew if iced), add frothed milk, pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream and crushed peanuts if desired.

We made an Iced Peanut Butter Latte and poured it over ice after allowing the coffee to cool.
