🥘 Ingredient notes
These Keto Air Fryer Devilled Eggs are made with just a few ingredients, breaded and then filled with a creamy yolk mixture made with mayonnaise, mustard and hot sauce.
- Breadcrumbs: I used my breadcrumb recipe for these keto air fryer devilled eggs although you can use pork rind crumbs if you prefer.
- Almond flour: giving that sweet nutty aroma the almond flour is used to first coat the eggs before dipping into the whisked eggs which helps with the coating to adhere better
- Mayonnaise: adds that creaminess to the yolk filling with a slight sweetness and bit of tang.
- Dijon mustard: used for that strong and sharp flavour with a hint of spice
- Hot sauce: for a little extra heat to these eggs which is completely optional
🔪 Let's make the keto air fryer devilled eggs
STEP 1: Preheat air fryer at 400° F. Peel and then slice 6 hard boiled eggs in half, gently removing the yolks and placing them into a medium sized bowl.
STEP 2: Bread the eggs first by dredging in almond flour, then into the whisked egg and then into the low carb bread or pork rind crumbs
STEP 3: Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and place each egg into the basket, then spray the eggs with cooking spray. You may need to do this in batches if they don't all fit. Air fry at 400 F for 6 minutes.
STEP 4: Make the yolk filling by mashing them with the mayo, dijon mustard, hot sauce and salt and pepper. Place yolk mixture into a piping bag with a star tip. If you don't have a piping bag you can use a spoon to fill the eggs.
STEP 5: Remove eggs from air fryer basket and place on a plate and fill each egg with the yolk mixture.
- Make in advance: I suggest enjoying the eggs immediately as the breading can lose it's crispiness if left in the fridge for over 2 hours. You can hard boil the eggs and make the yolk mixture in advance. Keep them separated and wrapped in air tight containers until you are ready to bread them.
- Hard boiled eggs: for an easy method to hard boil the eggs you can also air fryer them for about 16 minutes at 250°F. Remove from air fryer and place in an ice bath for easier peeling. If making them on the stove top, please see this method.
- Variations: you can add different ingredients to the yolk mixture such as feta or blue cheese, pesto, diced jalapenos, wasabi. Use your imagination and get creative in the kitchen.
STEP 6: Top each egg with a sprinkle of paprika and chives.

💭 Frequently asked questions
These devilled eggs are only 2g total carbs per half egg which would likely be able to fit in with a keto or low carb diet.
Yes, you can make tha hard boiled eggs a day ahead. Peel and place them in an airtight container overnight.
I suggest consuming them within an hour of making them as it will lose it's crispy texture the longer it sits due to the moisture from the egg and yolk mixture. They are best consumed immediately. However, you can store the eggs and yolk mixture separately until ready to bread and air fry.
Good question and I had to look that up myself. I found the best answer here. Ultimately "there’s a tradition of referring to hot, peppery, or spicy foods as being mean or associated with the underworld"

Wow, such a creative way to make deviled eyes! These are my favourite side for special occasions (Christmas, Easter, birthdays) and big meals; I will remember to follow your recipe next time (in the oven, though, unless I buy an air fryer until then:)))
