These crispy keto chicken skin egg rolls are a great Keto or Low Carb option for those of you who love egg rolls but don't want the extra carbs from the egg roll wrap.

Using chicken skin wrappers for egg rolls instead of traditional egg roll wrappers is beneficial for those following a low-carb diet because chicken skin is low in carbohydrates and high in protein, making it a keto-friendly option that helps reduce carb intake while increasing protein content.
Additionally, chicken skin adds a delicious flavor and crispy texture to the egg rolls, enhancing the overall dish. This creative variation provides a unique twist on traditional egg rolls and caters to various dietary preferences, including low-carb, keto, and paleo diets.
What else can you use chicken skins for?
- Crunchy Chicken Skin Snacks: Crisp up chicken skins in the oven until they're golden and crispy. Season them with your favorite spices like paprika, garlic powder, or even cinnamon sugar for a sweet twist. They make a delicious and crunchy snack.
- Chicken Skin Cracklings: Similar to pork cracklings, you can fry chicken skins until they puff up and become crispy. They're great as a topping for salads or soups or enjoyed as a crunchy snack.
- Chicken Skin Bacon: Cook chicken skins in a skillet until they render their fat and become crispy. You can then chop them up and use them as a bacon-like topping for salads, baked potatoes, or pasta dishes.
- Chicken Skin Tacos: Use chicken skins as a substitute for taco shells. Fry or bake them until crispy, then fill them with your favorite taco fillings like seasoned ground chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and salsa.
These are just a few ideas to get you started, but feel free to get creative and experiment with different ways to use chicken skins in your cooking!

Ingredient Notes
- Chicken skins: I was able to ask my chef friend to get me some chicken skins from the butcher. They gave her the skins for free. So I thought this was a perfect idea to make Keto Chicken Skin Egg Rolls
- Egg Roll in a Bowl: this recipe can be found all over the internet and is a keto staple recipe. My favorite is from Keto Connect (the recipe is linked in the recipe card below).
Recipe tips and serving suggestions
- Crispy chicken skins: you can also fry up the chicken skin on their own like pork rinds or bake them on a cookie sheet and make crispy chicken skin chips.
- Serve with: I enjoy serving these with an egg roll in the bowl on the side with some soy sauce and hot sauce. You may also want to try them with my Hoisin Beef Bowl and my Hoisin Sauce recipe.
- Most people in the keto low carb world are familiar with the Crack Slaw or Egg Roll in a Bowl recipe. My favorite is from Keto Connect. I do have a Low Carb Thai Eggroll in a Bowl recipe that is also delicious.
Frequently asked questions
You can use any other types of skin such as turkey as long as the skin is thin. If it's too thick it would make it difficult to roll and evenly fry.
Spring rolls are fried in a thin wrapper whereas egg rolls are fried with a thicker wrapper. These chicken skin egg rolls resemble more of a thick wrapper.
