Carnivore Experiment - Week 6 & 7 of 12 is a combo post of two weeks because not much has happened in the past couple of weeks other than the same.

However, I did go on a weekend trip to Buffalo and purchased some non carnivore snacks which has kept me slightly off track but I have been limiting my indulgent and feel good about not overdoing it.

    Blood Sugars

I have been getting reading around 5.5 lately so I am excited to see my A1C results at the end of week 12. If I do see a decrease since my lowest of 5.7, I think I will continue with carnivore.

    Eating

So I enjoyed a keto pizza at Blaze Pizza and boy did I regret it. Not because I went off carnivore but because all the fibre in the pizza blocked me up for a few days and gave my intestines a real workout.

It was terrible and I should have known better but I wasn't thinking when I ate the pizza. If you have been doing carnivore for several weeks without any vegetables or fibre, DO NOT eat anything fibrous.

I suggest if you do, eat very little and ease your body back into it slowly. DO NOT just eat an entire pizza.

I swear it was extremely painful, it really hurt, I could feel the blockage in my stomach and actually feel when the blockage moved throughout my intestines. It took about 5 days to clear up.

I do not recommend doing this, it was a dumb idea on my part.

Having said that, I also went on a week trip to Buffalo and I was so proud of myself for not going all out and diving into all the carbs while eating in restaurants for 3 days.

I tried to eat mostly carnivore, my best options were either steak or meatballs. Breakfasts are always easy, eating in food courts I went for wings or meatballs and scraped off the sauce.

Dinners out were easy too, I made sure to do a little research before I agreed to go to any restaurants, just to make sure they had something I could eat.

I did have an amazing double cheese burger at Red Robins. They have this cheese crips option for their burgers that I requested for them to use the crips as the bun and they obliged. This was the best burger I've ever had.

    Gym Routine

I have been loving my gym routine. Lifting weights has been amazing for me because I keep feeling stronger and upping the amount of weights I lift.

Although it is a bit of a mind fuck because I know I am building muscle but the numbers on the scale do not seem to move as much as I would like.

However, I will stay consistent because in the past I used to switch it up every time the scale didn't move and I always played the yoyo game.

    Pooping

Other then the torture of eating that very fibrous keto pizza, I have been otherwise consistent and have good bowel movements. Still not as bulky as they were when I ate veggies but still moving as usual and feel great.

    Weight-loss

I am down .5 pounds but feel like I gained a lot of muscle the past 2 weeks. As I get stronger I continue to increase the amount of weights I lift in the gym.

    Other Side Effects

I have noticed a few canker sores in my mouth on the right side of my cheek. Not sure why this is, might just be work stress related as I have been very busy at work lately. Im also wondering if it's something I am now deficient?

I have yet to do any liver or other organs to get the full amount of nutrients on a carnivore diet. Seeing liver in the grocery stores makes me want to gag, it just looks so gross to me...lol.

I may have to bite the bullet and buy some desicated liver pills because I don't think I can even stomach touching liver and cutting it up into chunks. I'm so wimpy.

I will update you next Monday on how week 8 went for me.
