Carnivore Experiment - Week 12 was a good week. I can truly say that I love eating this way but I also do miss having a keto dessert once in a while. I also do miss eating a crunch veggie like broccoli.

This final week of carnivore is bitter sweet because the whole purpose of eating this way was to get my labs done at the end of the 12 weeks. However, due to the Corona Virus, I have decided that I do not want to risk my health by going to a lab.

    Blood Sugars

My blood sugars have been good this week and they have been hovering around 5.5 to 5.9 mmol/l.

Sadly I need to make the decision if I will continue carnivore until I feel it's safe to get my labs or go back to keto again.

I feel like being quarantined can make it easier to stick to carnivore but boredom might takeover and I cave into some keto snacks and baking.

Time will tell but I know I can continue with carnivore if life was normal but this Covid-19 has got people doing crazy things.

    Eating

I feel like I was eating only out of necessity this week. Like I was afriad to eat too much because I wasnt sure when I would be able to get groceries again.

The lineups in the grocery stores are getting longer and I refuse to wait in line to get food. It's just not my thing and I will need to look at grocery delivery options.

I did get a meatbox delivery from TruLocal which is an online subscription box of local meats.

    Gym Routine

Only exercise I have been getting are my daily walks. Still not used to this staying home thing and I feel like I have gotten lazier with boredom. Hopefully that changes in the weeks ahead.

    Pooping

Very regular this week. Nothing to report.

    Weight-loss

I was down another 2 pounds this week. Definitely a sign of simply eating out of necessity and possibly some fear of running out of food. Total weight loss over the 12 weeks is 13 pounds.

Will try to keep it off and continue to lose some but truly wanted to know my lab results by doing this experiment.

    Conclusion

Well, sadly it may look like the last 12 weeks were a waste of time since I will not get my blood work done at this time.

However, I have learned a lot about my eating habits, I feel really good, I lost some weight. I also noticed things like my skin looking much better, normally I don't pay attention to my skin or worry how it looks but eating carnivore has me like noticing how much better things are.

I feel like my blood work would show positive results but it's just not worth the risk for me to go out to a lab and chance getting sick. Especially since I am feeling so good right now.

We will see how this goes, I will do an update post in a month or so to let you know how I am doing. If this quarantine lasts for a few months, there might not be much to report but I will update either way.

Supplements I am using while doing Carnivore are:

    • Magnesium
    • Potassium
    • Omega 3
    • Vitamin D-3
    • B100 Complex
